Fjordfiesta was founded in 2001 with the ambition to reconnect with Scandinavian design heritage and to focus on Norwegian design aesthetics. The company’s factory, however, is much older. Located in a deep valley by the Dokka River in the heart of Norway, it has been producing quality furniture for the past 65 years.


Fjordfiesta’s intention is to create furniture that will last for generations to come. Fjordfiesta’s initial project was to reintroduce the timeless Scandia range of chairs that had been designed by Hans Brattrud in the 1950s. The chairs, which had only been available through vintage dealers since the mid ‘70s, were slightly trimmed by the designer and put into production again in 2001. The Scandia series is eco-labelled by the ‘Swan’, the official Nordic eco-label. All materials are chosen with great consideration, and by using a stainless steel base, water-base lacquer and wood from certified forestry, the Scandia series is an environmentally conscious choice.

When working on the Pi table, the duo Anderssen & Voll had different ideas on the construction. The slightly tapered legs was an idea that popped up in a meeting with Pål Lunder, founder of Fjordfiesta, and gives the side table a playful touch.

The 1001 series was designed by Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Møbler in 1959. The chair earned him recognition from the American Institute of Decoration. The 1001 AX Sofa is an upholstered 3-seater leather sofa with fluted padding and a solid walnut and stainless steel base. Available in three different leather types.

Upholstered lounge chair with fluted padding and a solid walnut and stainless steel base. The 1001 series was designed by Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Møbler in 1959. 

1001 AX

In 1960 Torbjørn Afdal designed the multi purpose bench Krobo. It became an instant classic in Norway because of its unique flexibility and multitude of possible uses. The bench was re-launched by Fjordfiesta in cooperation with Utopia Retro Modern in 2014. Torbjørn Afdal, who started working as a designer at Bruksbo Tegnekontor in 1946, was one of the most prolific post-war Norwegian designers.

Krobo 2000
