Øyvind Iversen
1928 - 2012Øyvind Iversen designed the dining chair City (1955) as his diploma project while at Statens Håndverks og Kunstindustriskole in Oslo. The chair’s legs are of steel but its seat and back are constructed from one single piece of moulded plywood laminate. This chair, which has good elasticity and suspension, has slightly curved surfaces that make it very comfortable. City soon became a bestseller and triggered several spin-offs. It was originally produced by Møre Lenestolfabrikk around 1955-56, but was re-launched in 2007 by furniture company Fora Form. Iversen’s chair can now be found in laminated beech, oak and plastic, and in a variety of colours.
オイヴィン・イーヴェルセンが、国立工芸美術大学の卒業 制作として手がけたダイニングチェア〈City〉。これは成型 合板により一体化した背と座面に、スチール製の脚を取り 付けたものです。弾性に富み、ゆるやかにカーブした座面 は、体にぴったりとフィットし、快適な座り心地をもたらす ものでした。イーヴェルセンの椅子は人気商品となり、いくつかのシリーズもつくられました。〈City〉は、元は55〜56 年にかけてMøre Lenestolfabrikkが製造していたもの ですが、2007年からはFora Fomeが復刻を開始。現在 はバーチ、オーク、プラスチックの3つの木種が使われ、色 も各種揃っています。
