Furniture designer and interior architect Sigurd Resell worked at Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor from 1947 to 1968. While there, his biggest commercial success was the Blinken armchair (1956). Many of Resell’s works reflect his refined understanding of forms and materials. One of the highlights of his time at Rastad & Relling is the exclusive armchair Sirkel, from the early ’60s. After 1968 he worked mainly for Vatne Lenestolfabrikk. The armchair Falcon from 1971 tripled Vatne’s sales in just two years.
シグード・レッセルは、1947年ラスタ&レリングに入社。53〜56年のあいだは一度工房を離れたものの、68年まで同社にて内装建築と家具デザインを担当します。彼の最大のヒット 商品は、56年にラスタ&レリングでデザインした肘掛け椅 子〈Blinken〉でしょう。フォルムと素材に精通したレッセル は、このほかにもたくさんの作品を残します。ラスタ &レリング在籍時代の最高傑作と言われるのが、60年代 前半に手がけた高級肘掛け椅子〈Sirkel〉です。68年以降 はVatne Lenestolfabrikk社の製品を多くデザインして います。71年に発表した肘掛け椅子〈Falcon〉は、2年間でVatne社のセールス記録を3倍に引き上げました。この椅 子は現在Rybo社から合板バージョンが出ています。
