Fuglen Asakusa opened in 2018 as the second Fuglen bar in Tokyo. We serve coffee and food every day from 8am, including the renowned Fuglen waffles with brown cheese! Like most of the Fuglen bars, this bar is also a vintage design shop — everything you see is for sale: chairs, tables, lamps, plates, glasses and knick-knacks! The interior is mainly Scandinavian design from the 50s and 60s, curated by Norwegian Icons.

Fuglen Asakusa

The Grorud chair was designed in 1958 by Hans Bratterud as the perfect stacking chair for kitchens and cafeterias. Solid, simple design with veneer seat in three designs. The characteristic transparent back which is seamlessly integrated into the seat gives the chair a strong architectonic expression. The Grorud chair comes in 3 different designs: Oak, black or walnut.

Grorudstolen

The Scandia Collection by Hans Brattrud - one of the highlights in Norwegian and Scandinavian design heritage. Dining chair in laminated lacquered oak or walnut, fully coloured veneer or with light edges. Satin chrome or black bolt base. Made in the Fjordfiesta factory in Norway. 

Scandia Jr.

In 1954, Dokka was the first Norwegian lamp to be awarded the highly regarded Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale. This functional light icon, also known as Pendel S-10053, was produced and sold by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico (Oslo) for many years. In 2007 Northern Lighting re-launched this design classic, taking care to preserve the main shape and features that originally made it such a popular lamp.

S-10053 "Dokka"

Birdy is a series of table, wall and floor lamps designed in 1952 by Birger Dahl. The modernist-style lamps were produced and sold by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico (Oslo) for many years. In 1954 the table lamp, then known as S-30016, was awarded the highly esteemed Gold Medal at the Milan Triennale. In 2013 Northern Lighting decided to re-launch this design classic, taking care to preserve the original shape and highly functional features that made it such a well-loved lamp in the first place.
