Popcorn
1968The Popcorn Chair was originally custom-designed on request to the opening of Henie Onstad Art Center in 1968. The original Popcorn chair was never in commercial production: it was only produced in a limited edition of 350 pieces for the art center. The chair's futuristic and modern design was a perfect fit for the new and dynamic art center, reflecting both its past and present while looking toward the future. Popcorn was remarkable, but also practical. It could easily be stacked and stored when not in use. The chair has subsequently proved to be a style icon and a collector’s item among designers and furniture connoisseurs. The original chair was produced using fiberglass. It has since been relaunched, using recycled plastic as material. Today the chair is produced by Fora Form.
