Tonning & Stryn is located in Stryn, a village hidden in one of western Norway’s fjords. The company, which was established in 1946, manufactures high quality pieces of furniture, many of which are designed by Alf Sture. Sture began his collaboration with Tonning in 1960, a partnership that lasted until his death in 2000 and resulted in a total of 120 models. Even today, Sture’s earlier designs from 1940, 1946 and 1951 are in production at Tonning & Stryn, thus proving the timelessness of Sture’s designs. The furniture is produced using traditional handcrafting methods in combination with modern machinery and equipment. A variety of woods and colors ensure almost unlimited possibilities. The end results are pieces of furniture that will grow old with dignity.
Tonning & Stryn produces the iconic furniture of its late long-standing collaborator Alf Sture, together with new designs inspired by the quality, craftsmanship and traditions for which the furniture village of Stryn has been known for generations.
